(CHICAGO) The Illinois Department of Child and Family Services is investigating the death of a 10-month-old boy in south suburban University Park.

Ayden Short, of the 600 block of Sullivan Lane, was pronounced dead at 8:34 a.m. Monday at Franciscan St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

DCFS is investigating allegations of neglect, but there has been no prior contact with the family, according to the department.

An autopsy for Ayden is scheduled for Tuesday.

University Park police could not be reached to provide further details Monday night.
