Police: Fight at bar led to shots being fired at home near Oswego

(OSWEGO) Following an altercation at a bar in Aurora, someone in a car fired shots at a home near west suburban Oswego early Sunday, according to police.

Sometime before 6 a.m., shots fired at a home in the 100 block of Laurie Lane in unincorporated Oswego, according to the Kendall County sheriff’s office.

The resident said a vehicle stopped  in front of the home and a suspect, whom the resident knew,  fired a gun at the home, a statement from police said. Police found “numerous bullet holes” in the home.

The victim told police they had been involved in a “physical altercation with the suspect at an Aurora bar earlier in the evening,” police said.

No injuries were reported, and the suspect was gone by the time police arrived.

The suspect and the vehicle were later found in Aurora. Detectives continue to investigate.

Police advised area residents that the shooting “is not believed to be a random act of violence. It was focused on a specific person and location. There is no known threat to the public.”
