(BUFFALO, N.Y.) A new report says a New York grand jury has started investigating rape allegations against Blackhawk star Patrick Kane.

WGRZ- TV in Buffalo reports that the woman who went back to Kane’s home with his alleged victim on August 1st, has been subpoenaed to appear before a grand jury on September 8th.

The two women had agreed to go to Kane’s home after meeting him in a bar.   Once they were there, one of the woman reportedly told Hamburg New York police Kane raped her.

This development means the Kane case is now before a grand jury, which will hear evidence and then decide whether to bring charges against the Blackhawks star.    Kane could testify before the panel as well.

The grand jury proceedings are secret under penalty of law in New York State.
