(ANTIOCH) A North suburban police Lt., killed in the line of duty one week ago, has been laid to rest.

Several hundred law enforcement officers joined the family and friends of Lt. Charles Joseph Gliniewicz for the officer’s funeral on Monday.

In addition to the music, the display of Lt. Gliniwiecz’s military uniform, and various flags – there were prayers…

“Amen and all of those who serve to keep us safe, another amen, “

The speakers also shared memories of the fallen Lt. – one saying, “When we were growing up, we all knew Joe was a hero but, now, the nation knows he’s a hero. We are Gliniewicz strong, I love you brother.”

Charles Joseph Gliniewicz, who was 52, was shot last Tuesday in Fox Lake after he radioed he was chasing three suspicious men on foot. There have been no arrests.
