(PALOS HEIGHTS) A high school in southwest suburban Palos Heights was put on lockdown Monday due to a possible weapon on campus or a school bus.
Officials “received information” about the possible weapon at Shepard High School, 13049 S. Ridgeland Ave., and put the school on lockdown, according to a statement on the Community High School District 218 website.
“School administration and school security are working closely with Cook County Sheriff Officers to investigate this possibility,” according to the statement.
A spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office said investigators were at the scene Monday afternoon but no other details were immediately available.
