(CHICAGO) As police continue to investigate a nine-year-old’s death, a $17,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.

St. Sabina Parish and others have put up the reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect in the Monday afternoon shooting death of nine-year-old Tyshawn Lee in the Gresham neighborhood.

Joy McCormack lost her son to gun violence in Chicago in 2009. She met with Hilary Clinton Monday.

“She committed to listening to us and hearing our ideas about what some potential solutions could be,” McCormack said

Founder of Chicago’s Citizens for Change, McCormack offers up her thoughts on curbing gun violence.

“I would title guns like we title cars…all guns start off legal and then they end up used in crimes and I think we need to do a better job of tracking what happens to weapons on the streets of our country.”
