Man shot to death, 4 wounded while filming rap video in Gresham

(CHICAGO) A man was killed and four other people were injured when someone opened fire on a group filming a rap video early Tuesday in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.

A group was filming in Foster Park the 1400 block of West 84th at 2:19 a.m. when someone approached them and started shooting, police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines said. The shooter then ran away.

A 23-year-old man was shot in the back of the head and pronounced dead at the scene, Gaines said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office confirmed the death but did not release further details Tuesday morning.

A 19-year-old woman was shot twice in the groin and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she was listed in serious condition, Gaines said.

A 20-year-old man who was shot nine times in the leg and shoulder, a 25-year-old man with a graze wound to the leg and an 18-year-old man with a graze wound to the back all transported themselves to Christ Medical Center, Gaines said. Their conditions were stabilized.
