Person Struck By Red Line Train

(CHICAGO) CTA Red Line trains were rerouted this afternoon to the elevated tracks between Fullerton and Cermak-Chinatown after a person was struck by a southbound train at the Clark/Division stop.

WLS’ Brendan GreelEy was at the scene when the accident happened. He says the person was stuck under the train and was pulled out by fire fighters and CTA personnel. Greely says the person was alert.

The incident happened at around 11:30 a.m. Fire media affairs reports that the person was conscious and alert with no life threatening injuries. The CTA motorman was also transported to an area hospital as a precaution.
