(GARY) Two Indiana men drowned Saturday afternoon while on Lake Michigan near Gary.

Kyle Riebly, 26, of Griffith and David Halford, 37, of Hobart drowned in an incident at Well Street Beach, 9001 Lake Shore Drive in Gary, according to the Lake County coroner’s office.

Both men were taken to Methodist Hospital’s Northlake Campus, 600 Grant St., according to the coroner’s office. Halford was pronounced dead at 3:30 p.m. and Riebly was pronounced dead at 3:48 p.m.

Riebly lived in the 1200 block of North Indiana in Griffith and Halford lived in the 3700 block of Colbourne Street in Hobart, according to the coroner’s office.
