Jackson Park May Host Obama Library

(CHICAGO)  There are various media reports that President Barack Obama has chosen Jackson Park for his presidential library.

The park, which is next to the Museum of Science and Industry, has a lot more beauty than Washington Park with lush woods and a lagoon.

In May of last year, Mayor Emanuel acknowledged that public funds will be necessary in addition to the private donations to build the half-billion dollar project.

“We will continue to make the investments necessary so whatever site is selected, it has investments in that area so everyone from around the globe can get their conveniently,” Emanuel said.

The hope is the Obama Library will be a big tourist attraction and help revitalize the adjacent poor neighborhoods.
