Cubs Fire DJ for Mocking Cubs Reliever Over Domestic Violence

(CHICAGO) It’s a modern-day version of a ballpark organist playing “Three Blind Mice” when there was a call that went against the home team. But this went a little too far.

The Chicago Cubs have fired a DJ who played a song that referred to violence after reliever Aroldis Chapman left a game on Sunday. The Cubs pitcher served a 29-game suspension for a domestic violence disturbance.

Police didn’t file charges but major league baseball sat him down part of the season. The DJ played “Smack My Bitch Up” by The Prodigy.

The Cubs have apologized, saying the music choice showed “a lack of judgment and sensitivity to an important issue.”
