(CHICAGO) It’s not just Chicago feeling the sting of ratings downgrades. DuPage County is the latest to get dinged.
Fitch Ratings has downgraded DuPage County from AAA to AA+ based on a review of the county’s credit.
Specifically, Fitch downgraded unlimited tax general obligation bonds and limited tax general obligation bonds.
Fitch says the downgrades reflect the rating agency’s concern over the county’s limited revenue flexibility and slow revenue growth prospects.
The Rating Outlook is stable with Fitch saying that the county is very well positioned to address downturns while maintaining a high level of fundamental financial flexibility.
