(CHICAGO) A mile-long stretch of Touhy Avenue will be closed next week in northwest suburban Des Plaines as crews work to repair train track crossings.

The closure is set to start on Monday and will stretch from Elmhurst Road to to Mount Prospect road. The Illinois Department of Transportation says the closure will last several days but work should be complete no later than September 22.

IDOT is re-routing traffic along Elmhurst Road, Oakton Street and Mount Prospect Road.
