Chicago Marathon a Boon to Local Economy

By Nick Gale

(CHICAGO) Even though the Bank of America Chicago Marathon doesn’t kick off until Sunday, the economic impact started Friday when runners started coming into town.

Organizers say the marathon provides Chicago with an economic impact of more than $250 million for the weekend.

Security along the marathon route will be beefed up especially around the finish line. President Barack Obama is in town as well, which means even more security than usual.
