Senator Kirk calls on Trump to step down as GOP nominee

Illinois Republican U.S. Senator Mark Kirk is calling on Donald Trump to drop out as the Republican Presidential nominee. Kirk made his comment in a Friday tweet following the leak of a 2005 videotape of unaired footage of “Access Hollywood” in which Trump and show host Billy Bush were wearing microphones they did not realize were recording. In the tape’s audio Trump said
he “tried to f–k” a married woman, and then bragged that because of his celebrity status, he is able to force himself on women, saying “I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. I just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the p—y.”

Following the leak of the tape to the Washington Post, Senator Kirk tweeted, “@realDonaldTrump should drop out. @GOP should engage rules for emergency replacement.”

Kirk pulled his endorsement from Trump this past June.
