(CHICAGO) Mayor Emanuel is in Washington today and Bill Cameron says he made news talking about fake news during an appearance on a Brookings Institute panel.

A lot of Democrats – notably Hillary Clinton – have said fake news is hurting our democracy.  Mayor Emanuel was given a chance to deplore fake news on this think tank panel, but he didn’t.

“This is a classic, to me, way of the difference between the Washington-New York beltway looks at things and the way they are. You say this ‘fake news.’  Well, to the rest of the world  they think the mainstream news is fake and the other ones are  looking at as real and it’s again, like two ships passing in the dark.  They don’t think the fake news is fake and we talk about what they’re looking at as if it’s fake and they think that what the mainstream elite media produces is fake, which is why they’re driven to other alternatives,” said Mayor Emanuel.

Rahm also explained Hillary’s loss to Trump as the result of a change election: he was the change and she wasn’t.
