(CHICAGO) The Archdiocese of Chicago has tapped a former CPS administrator to serve as head of school operations.

Timothy Cawley has been appointed as the Chief of Parish & School Operations. Prior to his appointment, Cawley served as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Chicago Public Schools. He joined the Archdiocesan School Board in 2016. In a statement from the Archdiocese, they say Cawley will work in partnership with parishes and schools to improve the operating effectiveness of their ministry and education missions.

“We are proud to welcome Tim to our team at the Archdiocese of Chicago,” said Cardinal Blase J. Cupich. “His experience in business and education has been a valuable asset in his school board service and he will lend this unique and necessary perspective to the new initiatives the Archdiocese has begun.”

Before joining CPS, Cawley had a successful 30 year business career which began at Procter & Gamble, and included senior executive roles at Motorola and Ameritech. He was the Chief Executive Officer at Revell-Monogram, and served on the boards of several large European telecom companies.  Cawley has been very involved with a number of professional, community and charitable organizations, and is active at Sacred Heart Parish in Winnetka.

Cawley holds a Bachelor’s degree in business from The University of Notre Dame, and completed the University of Michigan’s Global Leadership executive education program. He has been a guest lecturer at The University of Notre Dame, Northwestern University’s Kellogg School, and the University of Chicago Harris School for Public Policy.
