Rahm: Illinois A Deadbeat State

In the Chicago School crisis, Mayor Rahm Emanuel is on the attack against the state.
Emanuel is still not ready to say where he’ll find the millions of dollars to prevent the schools from closing three weeks early and so he’s calling the State of Illinois, the biggest deadbeat in the State of Illinois.
“I will meet the challenge. We will work together and work through this issue. It is adding insult to injury not only to be dead last in funding education but then to be behind on your payments so dramatically that your affecting the ability of us to keep moving forward academically,” Emanuel said.
The mayor won’t rule out bringing back the corporate head tax that he repealed, but that looks more like a signal to corporate CEO’s to lean on Gov. Bruce Rauner to compromise for a state budget.
