In an exclusive interview on CBS’ 60 Minutes, Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart told Leslie Stahl that half of the inmates residing in Cook County Jail could be let out. “On any given day we have probably 2 to 3 hundred people that if they came up $500 they would leave here,” Sheriff Dart said.

Dart joined WLS-AM 890 and reiterated that he isn’t “soft on crime.”
