Rauner vows to fight steps to raise minimum wage to $15 an hour

(CHICAGO)  There’s bad news today for backers of raising the minimum wage.

Governor Rauner is vowing to veto the bill the legislature passed to raise the state’s minimum wage in steps to $15 an hour in 2022.

Mike Reever of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce was hoping for this, saying “Bills like that that do nothing to grow the economy or build jobs. That worker may see cuts in their hours. Positions may be taken away just because of the costs that incur.”

And while taping Connected to Chicago for Sunday night at 7 on WLS-AM 890, Reever said whether Donald Trump is good for business is still an open question.
