Kennedy: In favor of a Chicago casino

By Bill Cameron, WLS-AM News

(CHICAGO) Taping “Connected to Chicago” with Bill Cameron for Sunday night at 7, Democratic candidate for governor Chris Kennedy came out in favor of a Chicago casino.

Kennedy says paying for government with money from gambling is a sign of a failed state, but added, “”I don’t live in a vacuum. We can’t recreate the world in the way we’d like to see it. The reality is that we have neighboring states that are poaching the dollars that are here and creating gambling casinos and opportunities right over our borders. We cannot allow that to occur. We cannot allow that out-migration of monies to those casinos to those states. So, I think we need to fight back.”

Kennedy says he’d prefer a Chicago casino to be located around McCormick Place because that’s where so many tourists and convention goers are.

And on another former vice, Kennedy said he’d definitely de-criminalize pot.

You can hear the entire interview Sunday night at 7pm on WLS-AM 890.
