Go jump in…the Riverwalk?

By Bill Cameron, WLS-AM News

(CHICAGO)The River Walk has made the Chicago River much more attractive, but one alderman says they’re thinking about one, new, very big step.

Would you jump into the Chicago River? It’s been considered an open sewer for more than a century, but 2nd Ward Alderman Brian Hopkins told the City Club that’s changing.

“The work of the Water Reclamation District, it’s just remarkable, transformative,” SAYS Hopkins, “We’re even talking about jumping into the Chicago River in a week or so to draw attention to the fact that it’s been cleaned up! As someone who has fallen into the Chicago River on a canoe trip, I’m not sure I wanna repeat that feat!”

Perhaps the best advice is to not jump into the Chicago River.
