A Poor Getaway Plan Lands Armed Robbery Suspects Behind Bars

(LAKE BLUFF)  The Verizon Store on Waukegan Road in Lake Bluff was robbed at gunpoint Friday afternoon.

Lake Bluff police say two suspects tied up the store clerks and stole merchandise before getting into a car with a third man.  They were later spotted in Lake Forest in, what turned out to be, a stolen car.

Cops gave chase for about eight miles until the suspects vehicle crashed in Highland Park close to the police station.  That didn’t seem to bother the suspects.  One jumped over a wall into the cop shop parking lot and two others ran inside the building.  They were found trying to hide behind a vending machine in the lobby.

Eddie Hill, Cordell Price and Aries Rickenbacker – all in their 20’s and from Chicago – are facing charges including armed robbery, aggravated robbery, unlawful restraint, and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.

Bonds range from 500-thousand to 750-thousand dollars and they’re due in court, in Waukegan, on October 5th.

Police say 20 cell phones and other stolen goods were found in the car along with a handgun.
