Duckworth says sexual harassment everywhere, including Congress

By Bill Cameron, WLS-AM News

(CHICAGO)  In an interview with Bill Cameron, Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) talks about sexual harassment on Capitol Hill.

Duckworth tells Cameron she thinks sexual harrassment is pervasive at all levels of our society and it’s not going to be reduced until more women are in leadership positions.

“We have a long way to go,” said Duckworth,” this is something I’ve worked on in the military in military sexual trauma, but I’m not surprised that it also happens in government.

Cameron: “You’ve served in both the House and the Senate. In which chamber is this problem worse?”

Duckworth: “If you go purely on population size, it would probably have to be the House because there are more members of the House than the Senate.”

What we need, she said, “is a zero tolerance policy.”
