Rahm attacks Rauner on new homeless vets housing project

(CHICAGO) It’s Veterans Day Observed and Mayor Emanuel took the occasion to take a whack at Gov Rauner again.

Rauner put a brick on state money for construction of a new homeless veterans housing project at Irving Park and Oak Park.

Rahm celebrated Veterans Day by attacking Rauner for it, saying “A project that would help provide shelter for our veterans was stopped by the State of Illinois under Governor Rauner and the governor’s agencies referred to it as a waste. I will tell you what I think is a waste. Allowing all that skill capacity and drive to be wasted in homeless when you could have a roof over your head and get back to work.”

Rauner says he cut the state money in question for budgetary reasons.
