(CHICAGO) While the Trump-Durbin immigration fight has been capturing the headlines lately, there’s another Trump administration immigration fight with Mayor Emanuel that’s gone largely unnoticed.

Trump’s immigration cop, ICE Director Matthew T. Albence​, recently said it’s time Sanctuary City politicians be charged with crimes for violating immigration laws.

Rahm would be in that line-up, but he’s mocking the notion, “What are you gonna do, arrest mayors because they’re making sure their residents are safe, secure and make sure their kids have a future? It not only won’t stand in court but not in the court of public opinion because it’s turning its back on everything we believe in.”

Very soon Rahm’s corporation counsel will be defending the city’s Welcoming Ordinance before the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.
