City Ready For Weekend Snow Battle

(CHICAGO) — As forecasters call for more snow throughout the weekend, the City of Chicago is urging resident to remain prepared.

Alicia Tate-Nadeau, who heads the city’s Office of Emergency Management and Communications, urges everyone to take it upon themselves to be ready.

“You’re part of the solution here. Please be prepared and make sure that you take care of your own safety. Make sure that if your going out, make sure that you have the appropriate [supplies], have a warm jacket in your car, things of that nature,” Tate-Nadeau said.

Streets and Sanitation plows will remain at the ready throughout the weekend.

Things should be cleared up by Monday. That’s the hope for Chicago Public Schools. They say while students had a snow day Friday, it will be business as usual on Monday. The snow day will be made up at the end of the school year.

More snow is expected Friday evening and again on Saturday.
