DCFS Worker Dies Months After Attack

(CHICAGO)  An Illinois Department of Children and Family Services worker has died in a Chicago hospital months after being attacked while on the job in western Illinois.  While trying to take a child into protective custody in Sterling, Illinois last September, Pamela Knight, 59, of Dixon, was knocked down and kicked in the head.

The DCFS worker suffered a fractured skull and brain damage.

Andrew Sucher, the father of the 2 year old who Knight was trying to protect, has pleaded NOT guilty to attempted first-degree murder and remains behind bars.  His next court hearing is scheduled for February 23rd.
