President Trump addressed annual National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service today.

The U.S. Capitol event honors law enforcement officers who have fallen in the line of duty.

President John F. Kennedy proclaimed May 15th as National Peace Officers Memorial Day in 1962.

So far this year, 53 police officers and law enforcement officials have lost their lives in the line of duty.
