A non-profit group has filed a lawsuit aimed at blocking the construction of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago’s Jackson Park.

The suit alleges that the planned center is not a “real” presidential library, because the proposed 12-story building also includes a community center, athletic center, and public plaza.

The suit accuses city officials of pulling a “short con shell game” to transfer city-owned land to the privately-owned Obama Foundation.

Chicago officials responded to the suit by calling the Obama Center a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” that will create jobs.
