(CHICAGO) President Trump is considering clemency for imprisoned ex-governor Rod Blagojevich and Democratic Senator Dick Durbin FAVORS it.

Dick Durbin and Donald Trump don’t agree on virtually everything else, but Durbin says he’s hoping Trump reduces Blago’s 14-year sentence to the current six years time-served.

“I think the sentence imposed on Rod Blagojevich was definitely way too long. Fourteen years?  It didn’t make sense,” says Durbin, “Not commenting on whether he was culpable or guilty – that was decided by the courts – but I thought the sentence was outrageous and if there is a way to reduce that sentence for him and his family, I would support it.”

It’ll be interesting to see whether this leading Democrat’s words help or hurt Blago’s chances with Trump.
