(CHICAGO) Jeep says trying to make their newest Wrangler model made for streets yet tough enough for off-roading is an engineering challenge and they have something new on the way.
The new Jeep Wrangler looks a lot like the old one but Kevin Metz, Senior Manager, Jeep Product Marketing says everything about it is new. New grille, interior, a cleaned-up dash that’s more intuitive and a lot of safety features.
Metz also tells Drive Chicago on WLS they’ve made upgrades to all of their powertrains. “We’re going to be introducing, in the next months here, a 2.0L direct-injected, turbo diesel engine with what we call “e-torque” technology. It’s one of the most advanced technology powertrains out there and it’s going to give you 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque combined with 23 mpg in the city and 25 mpg highway, which are really astounding numbers when you think about the shape and the ground clearance of a Jeep Wrangler,” said Metz
You can hear more about Jeep and many other vehicles on “Drive Chicago” which airs 8 a.m-9 a.m. Saturdays on WLS-AM 890.
