(CHICAGO)  One of the interesting issues with Elon Musk’s high speed O’Hare to Downtown transit tunnel proposal is safety.

Doing 150 miles an hour in a tunnel doesn’t sound safe, but Musk said roads are much more dangerous, noting “On a highway or on streets there are lots more intersecting streets and the behavior of other people on the road. The roads can vary quite a lot. They can be a lot of unidentified debris on the road. The road problem Tesla is dealing with is vastly more complex than the tunnel with people going only in one direction in one environment.”

So Musk isn’t worried about safety. He sounded more concerned about the return on capital for his investors.
