Politico: Rauner profits off of ICE detention center contracts

By Bill Cameron, WLS-AM News

(CHICAGO) Politico is out with a story that reveals Governor Bruce Rauner “profits off of ICE detention center contracts.”

A firm that handles Rauner’s investments owns Correct Care Solutions. Politico says it has a contract for Karnes Center in Texas “where immigrant familes complained they suffered cruelties while under detention.”

Rauner has apparently profited from his Correct Care investment, but his campaign says he has no direct involvement with the company and Rauner said June 19th separating families at the border should end, “It is bad policy. It is wrong. It’s heart-breaking. It’s not the moral thing to do. We need to secure our borders and secure our border, but separating families is not the answer. I’m against that and I’ve made my views clear to the federal governmentt.”

Nonetheless, Congressman Luis Gutierrez says Rauner should be ashamed of his Correct Care Solutions investment.
