(ROSEMONT)  Governor Bruce Rauner introduced Vice President Pence at his tax cut event in Rosemont.

Rauner needs to win back the Republican right wing since his close primary win and he introduced his pal Vice President Mike Pence the former Indiana governor to try to do it.

“He’s a role model for me and many of us who are governors across the country,” said Rauner, “What Indiana has done thanks to former Governor Mike Pence, along with his friend and predecessor Mitch Daniels, is incredible transformation of the Indiana economy. We are fightin’ every day to do the same thing. We’re makin’ progress. It’s tough. It’s slow. We’re fightin’ a corrupt, entrenched political machine out of Chicago run by a guy named Mike Madigan.”

Pence praised Rauner and also hosted a fundraiser for for Congressman Peter Roskam. Roskam did not attend, but stayed back in Washington for votes.

He also avoided getting his picture taken with Pence which would have been something the Democrats would have used against him.
