(PROSPECT HEIGHTS, Ill.) –– A massive condominium complex fire has left a number of people without homes in northwest suburban Prospect Heights.

The fire broke out Wednesday afternoon at the River Trails Condominiums near Palatine Road and Milwaukee Avenue.

More than 150 firefighters from 50 departments were called in to help battle the blaze.

In all, three 24-unit buildings were damaged. Firefighters were able to stop the fire from spreading to the fourth building.

Fire crews worked through the night to put out hot spots and were still on the scene Thursday morning.
