(CHICAGO) Gov Bruce Rauner is speaking out about the gun violence in Chicago

On the road in Peoria, Rauner was asked about the street violence in Chicago and he knocked down a rumor about what he might do about it.

“The violence in Chicago is heartbreaking and it’s got to end,” he said, “It’s just outrageous. There is no truth to the rumor of the National Guard. National Guard is not for neighborhood policing. For something like a riot or something like that it might be appropriate. I have never considered sending in the National Guard. That’s a false rumor.”

Rauner said jobs are the solution to gun violence in Chicago.
