Protest planned for Labor Day on road leading to O’Hare

By Bill Cameron

(CHICAGO) At City Hall, it’s been learned that another protest demanding the resignations of the mayor and his police superintendent is planned for another highway.

Bolstered by the low turnout for his Lake Shore Drive slowdown, activist Greg Livingston wants to try again, this time on Labor Day, September 3rd,on an unrevealed road heading into O’Hare.

Reminded by a reporter that he didn’t exactly set the world on fire last time, Livingston said it’s more important to count than to count people, “Dr. King, when he started the Montgomery bus boycott, there was one woman, Rosa Parks. Not everybody jumped on board, but 360 days later, the Montgomery bus company was bankrupt because the people finally got together.”

The mayor’s office says Mr. Livingston’s plans would only harm thousands of people living in neighborhoods across Chicago who earn a good paycheck working at our airports on ground crews, at restaurants, as airline employees and beyond.
