(CHICAGO)  Now that Mayor Emanuel has surprised the Chicago political scene with the announcement he won’t seek a third term, what happens next?

Big money and perhaps Barack Obama will trying draft a big name for mayor. Valarie Jarrett, Lisa Madigan and Arne Duncan come to mind.

If that happens, declared candidate Lori Lightfoot has a question, “Look, to be mayor of this city, you need to have courage, you need to have strength and you need to be able to bring people together. Many ofus have been out here for months making our case to Chicagoans and anybody who decides to jump in and take advantage of today’s political news, I think a fair question to ask them is where have they been?”

Perhaps a better question would be where’s the big money going?
