Chance the Rapper to speak at City Hall, possible endorsement for Mayor?

By Bill Cameron, WLS-AM News

(CHICAGO)  In the race for mayor, Chance the Rapper has a 10 am Tuesday City Hall presser to announce his attentions.

It won’t be the first time Chance the Rapper has come to city hall to talk policy.

He came to the City Council a year ago to urge the aldermen not to fund the new $95M police academy, stating “There’s a lot of different services that need to be funded: mental health services, obviously schooling is my big thing. But, there’s a lot of ways to transform the city that don’t have anything to do with police training.”

But the aldermen ignored Chance then and voted $10M to buy the land for the new police academy.  Now perhaps Chance will not ignore the next city election.
