Over the weekend, President Trump said he was reluctant to cancel an arms deal with Saudi Arabia over missing journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Trump said “we’d be punishing ourselves” by cancelling the military deals, and says the U.S. has other options he described as ‘very powerful’.

It might not be up to Trump – Congress has the power to block military sales if they believe the weapons would be used against civilians.

Turkish officials claim Khashoggi was murdered inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. The Saudi government denies any involvement and has threatened to retaliate against any sanctions.
