Vallas launches five year plan to stabilize city finances

(CHICAGO) Paul Vallas is out with an enthusiastic five-year plan to stabilize city finances.

At the City Club, Vallas was launching dozens of ideas in his usual style of a fire hose.

There was a casino, recreational marijuana, a bigger cut from a graduated income, and there was this from the incentives in the new federal tax law, “You could raise $10 billion for the west side and the south side. $10 billion! And you could give those communities hope without raising taxes! $10 billion.  And yes, it is a Trump initiative! Me! I don’t care if the cat is white or black! Does the cat catch mice?”

Vallas acknowledged again that he lost it at times in his pitch, but his enthusiasm may not viewed as a negative.
