Officials with the Cherokee Nation say Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s DNA test doesn’t amount to much.

Warren released the results of the test over the weekend, which showed she has Native American ancestry from ‘6 to 10’ generations back.

But Chuck Hoskin Jr., with the Cherokee Nation, says DNA tests are “useless to determine tribal citizenship” and that tribal nations keep careful records that are more accurate.

Hoskin said Warren’s claims “make a mockery out of DNA tests” and that she is “undermining tribal interests” by claiming a Native American heritage.
