A California man finally has his freedom after spending 20 years behind bars for a wrongful murder conviction.

Horace Roberts was sentenced to prison in 1998 in the death of his ex-lover, Terry Cheek. But authorities recently used DNA evidence to determine that it was Cheek’s husband who murdered her and set it up to look like Roberts was the culprit.

Roberts was released from prison earlier this month, while the husband and another man were arrested. Roberts said his freedom is “what I missed more than anything”.
