Portland Mayor Says Protest Groups with History of Violence Could See Restrictions

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler has proposed new regulations in the city when it comes to dealing with protest groups with a history of violence.

These new restrictions stem from an altercation that happened during an event on Aug. 4 between groups Antifa, Proud Boys and Patriot Prayer.

During the demonstration, there were guns and ammunition that were confiscated from protesters. It was later returned because all demonstrators had confirmed conceal carry permits.

“The objective is to reduce street brawls and violence,” said Mayor Wheeler.
