The penguin exhibit at the Sydney Aquarium in Sydney, Australia has a new power couple – two male penguins named Sphen and Magic.

The keepers say Sphen and Magic, who are both male, are constantly seen side-by-side and even built their own nest during breeding season.

Keepers gave them a fake egg to keep in their nest, and say the couple took turns sitting on it. They did so well that the keepers gave them a real egg to care for.

The Aquarium’s lead penguin handler says “Sphengic”, as they’re known, should be able to successfully raise a chick. Same-sex relationships are not unusual among penguins.
