Emergency Management chief wants a “counter drone” program

By Bill Cameron, WLS-AM News

(CHICAGO)  The chief of the city’s Office of Emergency Management and Communications told the aldermen she wants a “counter-drone” program.

Drones can carry explosives and Alicia Tate-Nadeau told the aldermen in city budget hearings that the city needs a counter-drone program to protect us.

“I’ve got to have a better say, ya know whenever a drone is following folks over the marathon, I should not have to put up a helicopter to chase a drone,” saud Tate-Nadeau, “There is better technology out there.”

And that technology is designed to jam signals from the ground to a drone.
