Chris Christie being considered for Attorney General role

Two sources tell CBS News that former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is being considered for the role of Attorney General in the Trump administration.

The President asked for and received the resignation of Jeff Sessions on Wednesday. Matthew Whitaker has been named the acting Attorney General.

Rudy Giuliani is currently serving on Trump’s private legal team. He is also reportedly being considered for the job atop the Department of Justice.

Christie and Trump have long been friends. Christie endorsed Trump following his decision to drop out of the 2016 race for the presidency.
