Midterm Elections Had Record Voter Turnout

A record number of people cast their votes in the 2018 midterm elections.

About 113 million people voted nationwide, which is the highest turnout ever for a midterm. 49 percent of eligible voters cast ballots, as opposed to just 36 percent in 2014.

In fact, many states got more votes just through early voting than they saw for the entirety of the 2014 election.
