New Treatment Could Let Those with Celiac Disease Eat Gluten

Those that suffer from Celiac disease may be able to start eating gluten again thanks to an experimental vaccine.

ImmusanT has created the vaccine called Nexvax2 and is moving forward with trials.

Dr. Jake Matlock with Hennepin Healthcare says, “If it does work it woudl be a game-changer for people with Celiac disease.

Over time patients would receive injections that would build up their gluten tolerance until consuming it would no longer be an issue.

Common symptoms that Celiac sufferers have when eating gluten include stomach cramps, nausea and vomiting.
